What we do

Livpure Foundation works to address root causes of water contamination and facilitation of affordable solution for it. We see scarcity of safe drinking water as a problem where people are deprived of awareness, resources and enabling environment to see drinking water as an issue. While only a quarter of the total population in India has drinking water in their premises, sixty-seven percent of Indian households do not treat their drinking water, even though it could be chemically or biologically contaminated.

Livpure Foundation is implementing sustainable community based water treatment projects combined with viable technology through local NGO Partners. The Foundation also has larger initiatives for generating awareness among people through school children as well as with special projects.

Students Ambassador Program: A Campaign on Safe Drinking Water

Livpure Foundation initiated a campaign on safe drinking water in July 2014. The agenda behind this campaign was to generate awareness on importance of safe drinking water, preventing water from contamination and maintenance of basic hygiene at household level. The campaign was led by the student community of schools located in Delhi/NCR region.

In schools, the campaign had been launched in name of Students Ambassadors Program (SAP) with objective to sensitize schools, teachers and communities on preventive as well as protective measures of water contamination. The Foundation provided a platform where the Student Ambassadors got an opportunity to share their theoretical knowledge with the community and bring back learning from the community.

Impact of the Campaign

More than 20 schools of Delhi/NCR region participated in this campaign. Around 500 Student Ambassadors actively disseminated knowledge and information on safe drinking water with the neighborhood communities. The students were also much more sensitized about importance of drinking water and in many schools it has lead to the “Save water” campaign looking at the scarcity of drinking water in Urban slums where the Ambassadors conducted water sample testing and campaign.
